1. WHERE WERE YOU FIRST DISCOVERED AND AT WHAT AGE?
I was discovered in a nightclub in Melbourne when I was 17… (Underage). A woman came up to me and started talking and I tried to get away from her because I thought she was asking me for I.D.
2. WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE TO BE THE SECRET BEHIND A SUCCESSFUL MODEL?
I think self-confidence is an imperative partof being a successful model. It’s so easy to fall into the trap of getting down on yourself when a client doesn’t choose you. But being able to separate yourself from the job and being confident in your ability helps prevent this. Another key aspect of being a successful model is looking after you in both body and mind.
3. WHAT IS THE BEST LOCATION FOR A SHOOT IN MELBOURNE?
I have shot in the cit y, which is great. Melbourne has a beautiful CBD, with interesting architecture and great energy. The Botanical Gardens are also exquisite.
4. WHO IS YOUR MOST FAVORITE MELBOURNE PHOTOGRAPHER – EITHER ONES YOU HAVE ALREADY WORKED WITH AND/OR ONES YOU WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A SHOOT WITH?
I have loved shooting with Justin Ridler. He has a very creative mind, which translates well onto print. I really enjoy the dialogue during our shoots together, and think that his pictures are definitely an art form.
5. WHAT SETS AUSSIE MODELS APART FROM THE REST OF THE WORLD, IN YOUR OPINION?
I have travelled quite a lot, and always seem to find an Aussie model that I get on famously with. I am currently in Hamburg, Germany, and have 3 Aussie girls here who make my time here so much more fun! I think it has todo with Australians’ down to earth nature and dry humour. Australians in general don’t take themselves too seriously, which is an attractive quality. We’re just happy people!
6. WHERE DO YOU SEE YOUR CAREER PATH AS A MODEL HEADING AND IS IT SOMETHING YOU WISH TO PURSUE VIGOROUSLY?
I have been modeling for seven years now, and it has been a complete whirlwind. I never pictured myself doing this, but it has been such an amazing opportunity – to see the world, meet creative people and experience different cultures. I’m not ready to quit yet – I think I have a lot more to offer.
