A stay at the luxuriously stunning The Royce Hotel in Melbourne is one you’ll remember forever. A true luxury boutique hotel, whose 5-stars are evident in everything from the award-winning chef menu to the delightful signature scent permeating the hallways. Situated along leafy St Kilda Road, nestled between the city’s gardens in the heart of the action (close proximity to galleries, the MCG, Rod Laver, Botanical Gardens and Albert Park), The Royce is an exquisite hotel housed in a beautiful heritage building established in 1928, that was originally the Rolls Royce showroom of Melbourne (hence the Showroom Bar’s name).

The Royce possesses the glittering opulence of old-world charm coupled with sleek modernity; a juxtaposition held by an undercurrent of sophistication and quiet luxury. Peacock motifs and french panelling adorn walls, whilst electronic curtains, high speed wi-fi and in-room entertainment showcase the modern comforts you come to expect from a world-class hotel of The Royce’s calibre. The friendly and attentive staff, the gorgeous guest rooms, stunning event spaces and superb dining options make this hotel stay a truly remarkable experience you’ll want to revisit time and again.
I had the pleasure of staying in the Boulevard Suite, complete with spacious entrance hall, separate lounge room, high ceilings, giant deluxe bath tub, super comfy king bed and gorgeous terrace. The bathroom boasts Italian Carrera marble with Molton Brown amenities, giant freestanding bath tub, double vanity with large mirror inlaid with lighting, and generous walk-in shower. It was a light-filled and glorious suite, reminiscent of Parisian luxury paired with Melbourne flair. Perfectly positioned along St Kilda Road, you can look out at the action on your terrace (complete with table and cushion-padded chairs) or close off from the world at the press of a button (did I mention how much I loved the electronic curtains and master light switches?). The beveled french doors leading to the interior rooms added an extra level of charm, as did the gorgeous decor, and the cleanliness of the entire hotel did not go unnoticed – it was spotless. Delicious macaroons and Perrier sparkling water on arrival, Nespresso machine, turn-down service, and the inclusion of Taittinger Champagne on the mini bar menu were absolute treats.

You will want for nothing when you enjoy your stay at The Royce. Be spoilt with impressive inclusions and offerings including: valet parking, champagne breakfast, gym facilities, grand ballroom, picturesque Terrace restaurant and the sparkling Showroom Bar. It’s nothing short of a dream stay in the perfect location to discover more of Melbourne on foot or with the tram stop at your doorstep. I would expect nothing less from the prestigious Royce name and you will not be disappointed by the opulence, charm and hospitality. Pop this hotel on your list and book in that special stay today.
