Wallows unveiled a cinematic masterpiece on Monday night at Margaret Court Arena for their ‘Model Tour’ in the heart of Australia. This multi-platinum alt-rock trio had settled in for their biggest headline tour yet, greeted by 7,500 excited and eagerly awaiting fans.

Before the electric guitar strings and heavy bass were ready to be released by Wallows, the delightful and sweet voice of support artist Grentperez came to sing a few hits of his own. Each of his songs felt like a loving lullaby that you peacefully embrace, giving you all the warmth and love in the world. Looking around the room, you could tell his presence made the room feel like everyone was best friends; arms around each other swinging to and fro.

Then, a large veil appeared before us shadowing seven large dark letters spelling, ‘WALLOWS’. It definitely made a very bold first impression and as the lights dimmed the instant cheers and screams from die-hard supporters took over the arena.

Silhouettes of a drummer, a pianist, guitarists and a man with a microphone started to sing a snippet from the track ‘Do Not Wait’. The beat dropped in an instant and before we knew it, Wallows had arrived.

Rocking back and forth to the deep iridescent lights flickering upon the stage, you couldn’t help but want to throw your hair back and sway the way lead singer, Dylan Minnette, does on stage. The audience was completely in love with the band and in nearly every direction I looked, a poster with hearts and lyrics was up in the air.

As the show went on there was a feeling in the air that something special was about to happen, and lo and behold, Wallows weaved their way through the crowd to the very back of the arena, and graced the crowd with an acoustic set upon a miniature podium adorned with warmly glowing lamps and antique furniture. The segment brought fans to tears, with droplets of pure happiness left upon their cheeks, as all in attendance felt like they were home.

Band members, Braeden Lemasters and Cole Preston, also ensured they high-fived fans on their way through the crowd, showing how much they all really cared about making sure each person received an unforgettable experience at their show, and it was something I found particularly unique.

Finishing off the night with hits ‘I Don’t Want To Talk’, ’Are You Bored Yet?’ and ‘Remember When’, the energy was electric. All hands were up in the air and the audience was the loudest I’ve ever experienced. What a thrilling and captivating performance from these three superstars!
