Shorefront Park on the south shore of Long Island, NY hosted a laid back and eclectic summer music festival this past weekend. Four days and four stages of acts covered the spectrum from ska punk and classic-rock, to electronic jam and folk. Now in its thirteenth year, the Great South Bay Music Festival delivers.
Sublime w/ Rome was the highlight on Friday night as they brought back the 90’s with hits like ‘What I Got.’

Despite the heat, crowds of all ages kept coming to the suburban oasis, a more welcoming and family friendly spot than other ‘trendier’ ones on the east.

America and WAR had the lawn along the bay packed for each of their sets to close out the festival Sunday evening. Fan favorite songs performed by America, now in their 50th year of touring, included ‘Sister Golden Hair’, ‘Ventura Highway,’ ‘Tin Man,’ ‘Lonely People’ and covers of classics by the Beatles and The Mamas & the Papas.
